New Hampshire Begins Recognizing the Virginia Concealed Carry Permit
New Hampshire policy is to honor resident permits from any state where the New Hampshire permit is honored. Since Virginia formally began to honor permits from ALL states back on July 1st New Hampshire has returned the favor. The update can be found on the official NH Department of Safety’s website.

The Georgia Attorney General has announced that they will not be honoring the Virginia permit because Virginia will not honor Georgia permits issued to those 18-20 years of age. This doesn’t make a lot of sense since Georgia has been honoring permits from other states that have similar policies. We’ll see how this unfolds but for now Georgia will not honor ANY Virginia concealed carry permit.

In February of 2016 Virginia law makers struck a deal in the legislature that undid the attorney general’s decision while also allowing that effective July 1st 2016 Virginia would begin to honor permits from ALL other states. So congratulations to permit holders everywhere. We can now all carry concealed in Virginia.

On Friday something very unusual happened. South Carolina passed a law that was signed in by Gov. Nikki Haley and went into effect on Friday June 3rd. The law granted reciprocity to Georgia in South Carolina. South Carolina’s policy has been to only honor permits from states that have similar or higher training standards which did not include Georgia because Georgia does not require any training to obtain a permit.

We have now had multiple sources confirm that West Virginia is now honoring concealed carry permits from Indiana. West Virginia’s policy is to honor permits from states that honor the West Virginia permit and Indiana does. The WV attorney general’s website does indicate they currently honor the Indiana permit.
