In just starting out training in Krav Maga I can definitely see the benefits of carrying in the appendix position. Just about everywhere else can leave your gun more exposed to the attacker while you are trying to take them down.
Zack, you are correct. AIWB is possibly the only position where your gun is still accessible for you almost regardless of the position or posture you are in. And it protects it better from most attacks. That’s a win-win in my book. I saw the advantages of AIWB for a long time, but I struggled to make it work for me without it being painful. Fortunately, there are many great holster options out there these days. Check out Episode #234 for an interview with Spencer Keepers who has many great insights about the subject.
