For what reason did Ohio, Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Virginia fall outside the boundaries of Nevada’s concealed carry law? Are residents of those states still permitted to have a weapon while in Nevada For legal purposes?

George you can see the criteria above. Each of those states does require training so I’m left to assume the issue is the lack of a database that law enforcement officers in NV have access to.

        Yeah, that must be it.

I am well trained with my firearms. The fact that Nevada doesn’t want me to carry concealed is mystifying. I guess it’s better to let criminals who carry with no legal papers to carry wherever they want. It’s just one more reason so many innocent people are killed in Walmart.

Good information but it would be great to know why Nevada changed their reciprocity with these states.

Florida for example requires a training class for concealed carry – not sure about the electronic database. I would think that we do have one.

Actually Mississippi doesn’t require training for a concealed carry permit. If you want to get the “enhanced sticker” that allows you to ignore most of the restrictions on the regular permit /constitutional carry, then you have to attend training.

If they use L.E.R.M.S. in Nevada then they have the database for Ohio as our concealed handgun licenses are tied to our drivers license/vehicle registration.

Well, I guess I’m crossing Vegas and Reno off of my list of future vacation destinations.

Training in Nevada may be more difficult for those from the Non-reciprocity states.

Here’s what happened in Ohio. Looks like a communication fail, and it’s been resolved according to this.
