Netflix and Chill, or Practice and Improve… The Choice Is Yours

So we just got the news that we're going to have the coronavirus social distancing guidelines put into place for at least another 30 days — until the end of April. What we decide to do with that time is essentially up to each individual person.

I know that some people will chose to do yard work, while others plan to get caught up on their favorite television shows. Still, others, plan to train as hard as they can in the comfort of their own home to get caught up on some much needed shooting skills.

There is no time like the present to be training with your guns, and if you don't know how to train we've got you covered.

How do you train in a time like this? Well, for one, you can dry fire. But, that's not even the topic of this article. Instead, what I'm going to do is show you some of the resources we have, both free and paid, that you can take advantage of while you're taking up space in your house.

These resources are meant to teach you things you may not have known, or refresh things you might have forgotten. Either way, you'll learn stuff that you can put into practice.

Podcast (free)

We actually have a few different podcasts now that are all free to listen to. These radio shows are usually Riley, Matthew, or Jacob talking, but I've been on once or twice and we do have regular guests from around the industry.

We also have a podcast geared more towards women, one geared towards instructors, and more.

You can find the current list of podcast shows here, and I highly recommend that you listen to them. You can learn a lot.

Online courses (paid)

We have a plethora of online courses that are paid. They all generally cost a lot less than you'd pay for an in person course and are all designed to be as instructive as possible. Most of the time, pro-instructor Riley Bowman is teaching these classes but sometimes Jacob, our company president, also teaches them.

We have classes on home defense, vehicular defense, the proper use of cover, concealed carry fundamentals, and the list goes on.

You can find the full list on this page, here.

The main benefit, is that they can be viewed almost instantly in the comfort of your own home where you're currently quarantined and watched over and again.

Videos (free)

We put out weekly videos that are absolutely free to consume and are meant to be educational in tone, even though a lot of the times Riley is also entertaining. In the marketing world, we call this infotainment.

The videos are excellent and cover all things from how to grip your gun, to how the sight radius on your handgun has an affect on your accuracy.

Again, they're all free and can be found by visiting our associated video page, here.

Guardian Nation (paid)

Guardian Nation is for everything else. If you really want to take your skills to the next level, GN membership is what you're going to need. You get access to our full training library, access to the exclusive, member's-only area, the member's only gear box that gets shipped out on a quarterly basis that's guaranteed to be worth at least as much as your membership, and so much more.

There is nothing more valuable than membership into Guardian Nation and our current members couldn't agree more. You can learn more about how to become a member, here.

Conclusion:

There is no time like the present to up your proficiency. That way, when life returns to normal you'll have gained something from being locked in your house. Spending at least some time learning an essential skill is the best way to spend your time. At least, it is in my humble opinion.

Let us know how you're spending your time in the comments below.

P.S. ~

We're still shipping products out because at least some of our stock is medical in nature which is considered essential right now. Therefore, if you need any of our dry fire products or anything else of that nature, please don't hesitate. We'll get them to you as quickly as we can, so you can take advantage of being home and dry firing.
