Ruger’s New Lite Rack LCP II in .22 LR

Just about three or so weeks before SHOT Show 2020 is the announcement of a new pistol from Ruger that's sure to please some folks who have certain needs. Ruger's newest pistol, the Lite Rack LCP II chambered in .22 LR is apparently a low-recoiling gun with an easier-to-rack slide.

To aid in the shooter's ability to rack the slide is the more pronounced slide serrations and even pistol cocking “ears” at the back of the slide to help enhance slide grip.

This pistol is based on a blowback, tilt-barrel system that, according to Ruger, helps reliable feeding of the 10+1 capacity pocket-sized pistol.

This pistol also comes with a manual safety for those of you who require such a feature, and is likely great for training with an ergonomically similar pistol with a much cheaper to shoot round. Of course, there is also the market for those who would like to carry a small gun with lower recoil than you'd find on, say, a 380 or 9mm.

While the effectiveness of the .22LR can certainly be debated, I have no plans of being on the receiving end of one and I'm not sure I've ever met someone who wants to find out how much damage a 22 can do. And in this podcast, that's exactly what they discuss:

Stay tuned as we ramp up for SHOT Show 2020 in the coming months, and as companies undoubtedly continue to release goodies for us to check out and drool on. Also, make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel so you don't miss any news.

I love this little gun, except for the safety (manual thumb safety, and magazine disconnect). Fortunately, both are easily removed if you agree with me.

Don’t buy the “Ruger LCP II 22LR – Safety Delete Insert” from the guy on ebay – jacogall_4 – it’s junk. Fell apart when pressing into the slot. I contacted the seller and he refused to replace it. Told me I should have sanded it down to fit LOL.
