The Velocity is Hunters HD Gold’s lightweight sport frame, paired with their signature gold photochromic lenses. Hunters HD Gold is the official eyewear of USPSA and Steel Challenge, and this is the frame to look at if you want one pair that works from the first stage of the morning to the last stage in full sun.

Why the gold lens

The warm gold tint adds contrast, so sights and targets stand out in flat, low or changing light. The lenses are photochromic: they darken in the sun in about 30 seconds and go back to gold in roughly 2 to 5 minutes once you’re in the shade or indoors. No swapping lenses as the light changes.

The lenses are made from Trivex, a lightweight, impact-resistant lens material, with an anti-reflective coating. Hunters HD Gold rates them to block 100% of UVA, UVB and blue light. Each lens is made one at a time in Alabama.
