The Wind River is organized around four jobs:

Stop the bleed. Multiple tourniquets, hemostatic gauze, and pressure dressings give you redundancy and the ability to work on more than one casualty.

Seal the chest. A twin-pack of vented chest seals covers entry and exit wounds from gunshots or other penetrating trauma.

Manage the wound and the patient. Trauma shears, nitrile gloves, an emergency blanket, marker, and elastic and triangle bandages let you cut away clothing, protect yourself, mark treatment times, prevent shock, and immobilize injuries.

Handle everyday first aid. Burn cream, antibiotic ointment, antiseptic wipes, adhesive bandages, sting-and-bite wipes, tweezers, cold packs, and over-the-counter pain, fever, and allergy medication round out the kit so it earns its keep on a normal day, not just a worst day.
