Most concealed carriers have never tested how they'd actually perform in the dark — and the majority of self-defense encounters happen in exactly those conditions.

Much of what people have been taught about defensive lights is built on gear and doctrine that's years out of date. The flashlight on your belt may be far less capable than you think, and the advice you've absorbed about how to use it may be working against you.

In this free live session, Dan Brady breaks down what actually matters in low light — and what most carriers get wrong.

What you'll learn

  • Why the single spec most people judge a flashlight by is the wrong one — and the number that actually determines whether you can identify a threat at distance
  • The everyday-carry lights that look impressive on paper but fall short when it counts
  • Where common low-light techniques quietly increase your risk instead of reducing it
  • How to tell, tonight, whether your current setup can actually do what you need it to do
  • The gap between how prepared most carriers feel and how prepared they actually are
