Will VHS Tapes Stop A Bullet?

bulletproof

I guess, more than anything else, it depends largely on the caliber of bullet, and what’s shooting it.

What is one of the first things you’d likely do if ever fired upon and needed to use your weapon in self-defense? Personally speaking, getting to an area where I can get behind something that’ll offer protection of some sort is at, or as close as you can get to, the top of the list depending upon the situation at hand.

My main goal with this is to make it hard for the bad guys to see me, and hopefully get behind something that could take the impact of each bullet, so my body didn’t have to turn into a pin cushion. Then, obviously, I can react appropriately from there.

Bulletproof

Are these old VHS tapes bulletproof?

This begs the question, then: what if all I had to take cover behind were my unwanted and hard to get rid of VHS tapes? Would they protect me from any impending doom?

To help answer that question, our concealed carry instructors put 10 VHS tapes to the test to find out how they’d handle getting shot from various calibers of gun, and the results may be surprising to some. You can watch the video here:

Were you surprised at the results? Let us know in the comments section what you thought, and if you’d ever consider taking cover behind a bookshelf filled with VHS tapes. Then, make sure you head on over to find out all of the other things that are (and are not) bulletproof.

As a parting thought, you really can’t go wrong just getting something actually designed to stop bullets, right? Something like a good bullet resistant vest from a reputable company takes all the guesswork out of staying alive in a firefight. That link goes to one of the companies we trust, who also makes bulletproof vest ownership an affordable venture.
