What Can We Do Right Now To Protect Our Rights?

There is a lot going on right now regarding our right to keep and bear arms. This is a fundamental right that I've gone into most aspects of in multiple different articles that I'll link to at the bottom of this one.

However, now is not necessarily the time to research what the 2A means, because we need to take immediate action.

Chances are good that our voices will not be heard. Chances are good that no matter what we say or do, these anti-gun politicians won't hear us because that is not their goal. Their goal is not to hear facts about guns, or hear what our actual opinions are about gun rights.

Some of these politicians, like Rep Jackson Lee, just have the desire to take away our God given right to self-defense and are willing to throw as many anti-gun bills as necessary to congress in order to make sure something, anything, gets passed.

But that doesn't mean we can't try. They don't want to hear from us, so I suggest we bombard them with our voices. Right. Now.

The time is now. We need to make our voices heard now. What can you and I, lowly peasant American tax payers do to protect our rights?

Well, the answer is that we can't do much, at least not by ourselves. Collectively, however, we can do a lot. There is strength in numbers and we all need to yell at the same time that they cannot take away our rights.

To do this I strongly encourage you to go over to your favorite gun rights organization and find out what they're doing to combat this nonsense.

You can try to use someone like the NRA, but honestly they have their hands full with internal junk and they won't have their heads in this fight as they do battle with NY, bankruptcy, and trying to move to Texas.

There are better options out there with people willing to fight and make our voices heard. But they need our help in order to do just that.

Let's take a look at two of them.

Firearms Policy Coalition:

The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) is one of those organizations. The FPC is a nonprofit organization that is directly combatting these idiots in Washington. There are a couple of things you can do to help.

Obviously you can support them with your money, but even if you're broke and cannot do that you can go to the “act” page and help make your voice heard.

That page lists all of the policies they are opposed to, and clicking on the link to each one will bring you to a different page detailing why they're opposed to that proposal. At the bottom, you have a form you can fill out to make your voice be heard.

That sends someone, usually a senator, a message on your behalf. The more messages they get, the harder it will be for them to ignore us.

Gun Owners of America:

The Gun Owners of America (GOA) is another one of those organizations. Like the FPC, they have their heart in the right place in that their main focus seems to be on gun rights and fighting multiple 2A battles.

The GOA believe that any and all gun control is unconstitutional and ineffective in its goal and that's really the only stance to have.

Like the FPC, there are a couple of different things you can do with the GOA. First, these fights cost money and donating something goes a long way. But they also have a section where you can get involved.

This page, for example, sends your senators a letter demanding that they save the filibuster. The filibuster is something that we cannot afford to lose. If we do lose it, any and all anti-gun legislation will be pushed through without even the hint of resistance.

As of right now they may have the numbers to eliminate it, and contacting your senators is imperative. Use the link on that page to do just that. Make your voice heard, now.

This is a fight:

This is a fight, my friends and it is one that we all need to be involved in. I just contacted my senators and even sent Rep Jackson Lee a nice little message.

I encourage you to do the same. Let's all make our voices heard so they know we won't be backing down on our gun rights. Make your voice heard, but try to do so in a civil way without threatening anyone. That won't get us anywhere.

Thank you for the article and the links. Ive spent the last hour sending my voice out to oppose all of the Bill’s trying to pass. This is a dark time in our country and it makes me sick as a patriot. The next 4 years will definitely be one for history. Hopefully history DOES NOT repeat itself.

I cannot find GOA’s address anywhere on this web sight. I will send a check but I do not put my personal information on the internet. Please send you address if you desire a donation from me!

To all reps and senators who have chauffeurs and bodyguards. Are the bodyguards armed to protect you? That’s fine I have no problem with that but I don’t have your money to have a bodyguard so I am the bodyguard for my family. Therefore I will also be armed. We are created equal so I have the same right as you. You are hired public servants not gods. I Will keep my arms.

Democrats in Congress are scared. They are paranoid. They see Republicans as some sort of ultra-right wing activists who are out for blood! AOC thinks Ted Cruz is out to murder her. Others denounce fellow law makers on the Republican side who personally carry firearms as covert insurrectionists, and those of us who carry as not any different. Hence thousands of troops in D.C., and metal fences with razor wire.
The truth is, Americans have always had the power to save themselves from tyranny because we are able to bear arms. But because our legislators have known this they have been careful to pass laws that make Americans prosper, and have not been keen to take away constitutional rights. Treat the American people as one people, with the respect they deserve and preserve and honor the rights with which they are endowed by our Creator.
