New Guns From Colt, Ruger, and Walther

Happy New Year Concealed Carriers across the country!
We have officially entered what I like to call “Guns Galore” season. This is the time of each year where new guns and gear are announced faster than any other period of time that year. This, of course, is the time leading up to SHOT Show, to help drive enthusiasm as the entire gun industry is under one roof, to include the gun media, of which we are a part.
If you've never been to SHOT Show before, or have never experienced our coverage, let me just say that you should subscribe to our channels because we do our very best to bring your real time footage, live interviews, new products, and more.
But, you didn't come here to read me rambling on about SHOT, you want to hear about the new guns. So, without further ado —
Walther CCP M2 in 380 ACP
While many gun aficionados like to say that the 380 is a dead or soon to be dead cartridge, I argue against that point. Yes, it is true that high capacity micro compacts like the SIG Sauer P365 and the Springfield Hellcat have changed the industry.
That, however, does not change the fact that the 380 is still a capable cartridge that recoils lighter. In response to the 9mm micros pushing the capacity limits, some gun companies refuse to leave those with weaker hands behind.
After all, older people, arthritic people, etc., all deserve to defend themselves, too. Hence the reason for slightly bigger, easier to handle 380 guns. While capacity may be less than others at 8+1, they make up for it in terms of recoil management and being easier to manipulate for people with disabilities.

Colt Python

I love a couple of different things so much that I almost feel guilty about it. For one, I love when gun manufacturers listen to their consumer base. That gets me giddy because it shows a couple of things. For one, it shows that they care about us and are willing to make us happy.
And two, it shows that they're willing to go back to the roots in order to stay in business. Colt has been hearing for many, many years that their consumers have wanted them to return to their roots with their classic snake guns.
And, a few years back, they reentered this arena with their Cobra, then the King Cobra, and this year, they've just announced their legendary Python. As I'm sure you imagined, it's not cheap with an MSRP of $1499 and time will tell if they're anywhere near as good as the originals. Still, this is something that many people said would never happen, and that's another thing I love to almost the point of guilt.
I've read articles written by gun dudes who swore up and down that the Python would never come back. They were wrong.

Ruger's 57

So, this is one that I'm sure nobody was expecting, and is technically the oldest news in this article. But, this is big news for a cartridge that many people want to buy but can't justify purchasing because the guns are expensive, and so is the ammo.
The Ruger-57 is a few hundred dollars cheaper, and if reliable, they'll sell a lot of them. Heck, I'm eyeballing one.
There are a couple of gun companies who are trend setters in the industry, and then there are companies who confirm those trends. Ruger may not be setting any trends, but they sure do confirm them. For Ruger to pick this idea up and produce a new gun, is very promising that others will eventually do the same. If they do it should help to drive prices down even further.

That does it for this one, but stay tuned as we're just getting started with the announcements.
