Alaska:   Uniform across state
Arizona:   State preemption laws do exist and prohibit local units from enacting or enforcing most things.
Arkansas:   Uniform throughout state
California:   Uniform throughout state
Colorado:   Some uniformity but local jurisdictions have some grandfathered clauses
Connecticut:   No preemption statute. Laws may vary by local jurisdiction
Delaware:   Some uniformity exists but laws pre-1985 are grandfathered and local jurisdictions can restrict open carry
District of Columbia:   Laws are uniform throughout
Florida:   Uniform throughout state
Georgia:   Uniform throughout state
Hawaii:   No preemption law. Localities may enact their own gun laws.

Mississippi:   Cities may restrict parks and public meetings but otherwise laws are uniform throughout the state.
Missouri:   Gun laws uniform except localities may regulate the open carry of loaded weapons by non-permittees in public areas.
Montana:   Mostly uniform throughout state but some local regulation of public areas is possible
Nebraska:   Some uniformity but localities can regulate some things
Nevada:   Uniform throughout the state
New Hampshire:   Uniform throughout the state
New Jersey:   None
New Mexico:   Uniform throughout the state
New York:   There are significant differences between most of the state and New York City. Be very cautious when doing research related to state laws that may not apply to NYC.
North Carolina:   Mostly uniform but some local carry restrictions exist.
North Dakota:   Some variance by locality
Ohio:   Firearm laws uniform throughout state
Oklahoma:   Uniform throughout state
Oregon:   There is a state preemption statute but it allows local regulation of loaded gun carry.
Pennsylvania:   Firearm laws uniform throughout state except in Philadelphia.
Rhode Island:   Uniform throughout state
South Carolina:   Firearm laws uniform throughout state.
South Dakota:   Uniform throughout state
Tennessee:   Uniform throughout state
Texas:   Firearm laws are uniform throughout state.
Utah:   Preemption statute is in place. Firearm laws uniform throughout the state.
Vermont:   Uniform throughout state
Virginia:   Mostly Uniform throughout state. Localities can regulate loaded long guns in vehicles.
Washington:   Preemption Statute in place. Laws should be uniform throughout the state
West Virginia:   Mostly uniform. Localities can regulate municipally owned blds and rec centers.
Wisconsin:   The state preempts all firearm laws in the state and local authorities can’t have Laws/Ordinances that conflict with those state laws.
Wyoming:   Uniform throughout State
