- Places of worship, though a congregation may authorize its own security personnel to carry with written notice to the congregation
- Hospitals, emergency rooms, and trauma centers
- Political rallies and fundraisers
- Establishments licensed under the Liquor Control Act that derive over half their total income from alcohol sales
- The State Capitol, unless you hold a valid Nebraska concealed handgun permit or have prior approval from the State Patrol
- Any place or premises where the person or entity in control, or the employer in control, prohibits concealed carry — for places open to the public, this requires conspicuous posted notice or a direct request to remove the handgun
- Anywhere state or federal law prohibits firearms
- Wild game preserves
- Omaha and Lincoln have executive orders banning firearms on city property. The Nebraska Attorney General has opined these violate state preemption as to parks, sidewalks, and trails, but the properties are posted and litigation is pending
