With the recent terrorist attacks in San Bernandino, Orlando and even Dallas, there is much attention being given to so-called “assault rifles.” Is all this talk warranted? Just what are assault rifles and weapons anyway? What is the definition of “assault weapon?” Does it make sense to issue new gun control edicts restricting the purchase and possession of these or similar firearms? Will it stop another Orlando from occurring?

Don Laessig Hmmm assault rifle…..how about an old flintlock that helped secure our freedom back in the beginning?…..or old Betsy that Davy Crockett had at the Alamo?…..Did anyone then think those rifles were assault rifles?….probly not, since they were not finished in black. …I know, “Black Guns Matter”!!….we need new bumper stickers with that saying!!….(joke) in case any liberals are reading this and can’t see the humor intended….
