On Friday something very unusual happened. South Carolina passed a law that was signed in by Gov. Nikki Haley and went into effect on Friday June 3rd. The law granted reciprocity to Georgia in South Carolina. South Carolina’s policy has been to only honor permits from states that have similar or higher training standards which did not include Georgia because Georgia does not require any training to obtain a permit.
On that May 2016 Sunday a man opened fire randomly on bystanders. The shooter, a battle tested Army veteran of multiple tours in Afghanistan was firing with a AR-15 variant. We still don’t have a lot of details about the gun used or the number of shots fired but…
