Governor Newsom Plots Against the Bill of Rights

With the pandemic officially over, some leaders around the country are scrambling to find new excuses and ways to curtail your basic civil liberties. Perhaps the most ridiculous effort comes from California Governor, Gavin Newsom.

Newsom wants to create a 28th Amendment which would undermine the 2nd Amendment. Odds are good that you already know this, but for those who do not, the 2nd Amendment has a clause which reads “shall not be infringed,” and this is precisely what Newsom's proposal does.

Don't believe me? I took the following directly from the governor's official website:

Newsom's 28th Amendment Proposal—

The 28th Amendment will permanently enshrine four broadly supported gun safety principles into the U.S. Constitution:

  • Raising the federal minimum age to purchase a firearm from 18 to 21;
  • Mandating universal background checks to prevent truly dangerous people from purchasing a gun that could be used in a crime;
  • Instituting a reasonable waiting period for all gun purchases; and
  • Barring civilian purchase of assault weapons that serve no other purpose than to kill as many people as possible in a short amount of time – weapons of war our nation’s founders never foresaw.

(You can read this dreck in its entirety here:

No This isn't Satire—

Each of these items clearly infringes on the 2nd Amendment, but there is more to it than that. If passed, this legislation would signify a massive victory for extremist hoplophobes, and it would set a terrible legal precedent for future anti-2nd Amendment legislation.

Though some may agree with the “safety principles” outlined, in reality, these proposals are not broadly supported outside Newsom's circle of Marxists and sycophants. This is a desperate, flailing attempt by gun control advocates like Newsom to regain territory they've lost in the gun control fight in recent years.

Many states have passed constitutional carry laws, and one could reasonably assume that very few people in those areas support such a radical amendment to the US Constitution. The Supreme Court struck down unconstitutional NY legislation not once, but twice in recent years. The assertion that these measures are “broadly supported” is patently false.

Does the “28th Amendment” Have a Chance?

If Newsom gets his way, it won't be without the help of RINOs and turncoats in DC. If the 28th Amendment passes as proposed—unchallenged and unrevised—we will see a 29th Amendment even more destructive to the 2nd Amendment, and perhaps other articles in the Bill of Rights.

I think Newsom is vying for the presidency in 2024, and this outlandish proposal is his way of making sure everyone knows where he stands on the gun control issue.

Legal considerations aside, I believe just proposing such a law is cause for impeachment. As a governor, he has a sworn duty to defend the US Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. The fact he is using his position to assail the US Constitution speaks volumes to the respect he holds for that document, his position, and the people who he claims to represent.

Recognize The Actual Purpose—

It is critical that we recognize this ploy for what it is: a power grab. Leaders like Newsom, do not care about saving lives. As I've said before, there are many things that our country, organizations, and individuals could do to address the issue of school shootings, but gun control has never been about saving lives.

Gun control is a deceptively worded concept which ostensibly aims to improve public safety. In reality, it is a ploy to disarm the proletariat so the socialists can employ KGB and Stasi tactics here in America without worrying about their foot soldiers being slain in the course of performing their “duties,” whatever those might be.

    Murder’s been illegal for centuries. Open borders, mental illness, rampant crime in Democratic Cities is the problem. Peaceful and law abiding citizens who wish to protect themselves are not.
