Should You Attend the NRA Carry Guard 2017 Expo?

Earlier this year the NRA announced it was adding a new event to it's calendar. The Personal Protection Expo promised to be an event oriented at today's armed citizens and the greater concealed carry community. After the NRA announced it's new Carry Guard program in April of 2017, they simultaneously renamed the Expo to be The NRA Carry Guard Expo.

So at this point the brand NRA Carry Guard refers to 3 things … the insurance product, the training curriculum, and this new event which will be held this year in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Despite the backlash the NRA has received from seemingly choosing to compete with and exclude the USCCA (news article here), this event does look to be a great place to learn more and gear up as a CCWer.

The event is very affordable to attend (Only $20 and free to NRA Life Members or Carry Guard Members) and has a decent line up of speakers and seminars available for anyone in attendance. A lot of these presentations will be repeated each day of the event making it easy to walk the show floor and still catch the speakers and presentations you would like to see.

The event is advertising that 150 exhibitors will be showcasing products and services oriented toward the every day armed citizen. There will also be a Concealed Carry Fashion Show and unlike some other industry events this is one where you can come armed. Concealed carry (within the limits of Wisconsin law) is allowed.

The event is slated to take place starting Friday, August 25 and wraps up on Sunday, the 27th.

You can learn more and buy tickets here.

Riley and I will be in attendance as will several of the instructors in our network. Hope to see you there!
