Interview With SIG’s Phil Strader On the M17 Pistol

While at SHOT Show 2018, we had the chance to meet up with SIG Sauer on numerous occasions. First, we were invited to their Premiere Media Day where we got to shoot all of their current and new offerings, and of course we got to see them on the show floor a bit where we got to handle their firearms yet again.

We've already spoken about the P365 in detail, which was exciting to say the least and is definitely a pistol that is going to change concealed carry for the better. This time around, though, let's talk about something a bit bigger that isn't something that'll necessarily be only for concealed carry, though I carry a big gun, so I guess anything is possible.

While down in sunny Las Vegas another pistol we got to get our hands on was the SIG M17, otherwise known as the pistol the US Army chose to be their sidearm of choice moving forward. I actually can't speak about this in much more detail because, for whatever reason, I never actually got behind the trigger while at the range with them.

But, I know Riley did, and he had the chance to go on camera for a few minutes with Phil Strader in an excellent interview where he shows off both a military version, and a civilian version of the Army's M17 pistol. Here is that interview:

Are you looking forward to the civilian version of the M17? Let us know in the comments below. Also, make sure you stay tuned because we still have a bunch more SHOT Show 2018 coverage coming your way in the form of videos and some articles covering the new products. In fact, it may be a good idea to just subscribe to our YouTube channel so you can see the content straightaway, without waiting.
