Missouri Will Be The Latest State to Have Constitutional Carry

Despite efforts by the Missouri Governor to impede gun rights; Missouri will become a “Constitutional Carry State” starting January 1st 2017. This will allow most adults to carry concealed without a permit, in the state, as Missouri’s Republican-led Legislature used its majority to overpower the governor’s veto attempts and bring the changes into place.

Maine Now Honors Permits from 16 New States

On June 5th, 2015 Legislative Document 868 was signed into law by Governor Paul LePage of Maine. Described as “An Act To Remove Limitations on Reciprocity for Concealed Handguns Permits” the change removes the power from the state police to enter into reciprocity agreements and instead forces Maine to recognize any resident permit from any state that also honors the Maine Concealed Handgun permit.

Minnesota Drops Four States and Adds Eight to Reciprocity List

In the 2015 legislative session in Minnesota a law passed that changed the requirement for permit reciprocity from the phrase “Substantially similar” to “similar.” Due to this change the Department of Public Safety has re-evaluated the state permits it will honor and has made some significant changes.

Washington No Longer Honoring Permits From Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi and Missouri
