The future is shaky, for sure. What future? Well a lot of it. All of it? Maybe everything as I'm about to point out. In a strange turn of events, I think about the only thing not in major jeopardy right now is the 2A (for once).
This article is indirectly related to firearms in that it's not the entire topic at hand, but it does come into play as you'll see in a few moments.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to look out into the current climate the world is in to figure out that we're in a tight spot right now as a country. Let's take a look at just a few of the things currently happening out in the world right now:
I want to start here because it's directly related to our website. If you haven't noticed, there have been more people defending themselves with their guns and getting into trouble for it.
We've got the older couple from St Louis with the large group of people breaking down a gate and passing by their house, only to have them come outside with their guns and subsequently get into trouble for it. In case you haven't been following this story, a search warrant was issued and police went in and took their firearms (seemingly without due process).
It looks to me, at least at first glance, that their rights have been violated. To my knowledge they have not been convicted of any crimes and yet their guns were taken away. It may be that charges are coming down the pipe, but when the guns were taken they weren't yet charged.
Then we have the other couple who made an attempt at deescalating a situation while being accosted in public. They tried to leave, were prevented from doing so, and the lady drew her firearm allegedly out of fear for her life. After looking at the video I can see why she was afraid — especially with everything else in the news right now.
Things are a mess, and there's no telling if they're going to get worse.
But that's not the point. Instead, the point is that people who want to protect themselves are being made into examples for one of a couple different reasons that I won't discuss right now as I sit and watch.
One thing I know with absolute certainty is that if ever there was a good time to get into some sort of legal defense program like CCW Safe or USCCA, let this be a sign for you. This will only get worse.

Disagreements cause death:
The current world we live in makes it extremely difficult to disagree with anyone as one lady found out not too long ago. This story is tragic and is being silenced. Why? Well, I'm guessing it's because there is no agenda attached to it.
This story takes place in Indianapolis and chances are excellent that you've never heard it. A 24 year old woman was killed after being shot in the head by cowards who didn't even make themselves visible.
Someone from her group apparently used the N-word in the initial argument, but I'm not entirely sure that's a reason to take a life over. Guns were apparently drawn on both sides which resulted in a stalemate.
After the argument was over, the two groups parted ways, but the cowards waited and hid to ambush the other group. They shot the mother of a three year old in the head.
This country is looking less and less like Land of the Free because of the Brave, and more and more like you can say anything you'd like, as long as it doesn't offend anyone.
Should anyone be using that word? No. And if someone does use that word should they be killed for it? No.
What a mess.
I'm the furthest thing you can be from a financial advisor. However, I consider myself to be financially responsible and follow a lot of people who are a lot smarter than I am to continue learning.
Some of the things these people say are likely to happen to our economy both during and after the epidemic is disturbing.
Many of them are predicting what is called a “lost decade” to take place in the very near future. And, in fact, many experts have said that it looked like it was going to happen before COVID-19 ever even took place. However, what's happening right now is speeding it up.
At least a few of these experts believe we've already entered into it.
Others are predicting that it may not be a single decade, but multiple decades. And, what's worse, they're saying that there won't be a V or U shaped recovery, and comparing what we're seeing right now to previous eras, we're screwed.
Again, I'm not an expert so make sure you're doing your own research.
Here's an article on Forbes describing what a “lost decade” is and why we were heading down this path to get you started. Keep in mind that they believed this was happening even back when that article was written in April, 2019 which is pre-corona days.
Why is this important to a blog about concealed carry? Because things might be getting a lot worse before they get any better. I'm not a genie, and I don't have a crystal ball, but I can say that making sure you've got plenty of ammo on hand is probably a good idea to make sure you can protect and feed your family in case these people are correct.
All you've gotta do is turn on the news and look at the violence. Do you want to be out in that stuff without ammo when it formally hits the fan?
And no, I don't think it has formally hit the fan as of yet. It's dripping on the fan, but it's not airborne just yet.
So get ready.
What does getting ready look like? While all my neighbors are out there doing their yard work and making things look pretty, I'm out there putting up chicken coops and planting food in the ground to make sure I can feed my family for what many people say is on the way.
I'm getting ready to drive two hours for a big ammo purchase.
And of course, to back all of the above up we still have corona virus raging on and wreaking havoc among us. That's really what started all this mess to begin with, or at least made it all worse.
The people in charge of fixing this thing can't agree on anything. Half of the “leaders” say one thing, while the other half say something else.
What's the point of all this? Who knows …
Well, I guess it could be that nobody knows for sure anything about the future. And, because of that, you should be taking it upon yourself to make sure you're ready if and when things get worse. I'd say at this point, even though I'm usually an optimist, that they're undoubtedly going to be getting worse before they get any better.
One good thing that has happened, is that with the influx of new gun owners it doesn't look like the anti-gunners will be able to do a whole lot in the way of taking guns away from law abiding citizens.
