Chicago Concealed Carry Holder Kills Armed Robber

An armed robber with a past criminal history is now dead. After attempting to rob a store Mr Gildersleeve got into a heated exchange with a customer who felt his life was being threatened. He fired on the robber and killed him.

Police referred the case to the Cook County state's attorney's office to “determine if there's any reason to charge” the 44-year-old customer, who had a concealed carry permit and a firearm owner's identification card, Guglielmi said.  Police also reviewed video surveillance.

The robber's firearm turned out not to be a real firearm but despite this law enforcement sees this for what it most likely was. A man trying to defend himself from a known criminal.

I SEEM TO BE CONFUSED HERE. The good guy had a CC permit. The bad guy was not required to have CC permit??? Where did Chicago Government go wrong?? They seem to support the bad people, problem.
