Glock Officially Announces New Silver Slimline Series Pistols

Welcome to January, my friends. New Year, New Resolutions (if you believe in that sort of thing, I don't), and plenty of New Guns. This is the time of year, just weeks before SHOT Show 2019, where we're going to be blowing up your news feed, email, and social media accounts with breaking new product releases.

This first one is something that has been rumored for a little while, and is now fact with two releases from Glock. Today we've received official notification from the company itself, and these pistols are no longer a rumor, but a reality.

What are they? These are the Glock Slimline Series Pistols, with silver slides of different size and polymer frames of the SAME size. They are the G43X and the G48.

There are a few different attributes that you'll notice right away on these guns. The first thing I noticed is the silver-finished slide. Glock is really deviating from the “you can have any color you want, as long as it's black” way of thinking.

The second thing I noticed when looking at both guns is the lack of an accessory rail. It's not that surprising based on the current G43 lacking one, but still the second thing I noticed. Then, after digging a bit deeper, I found out why …

… They both use the same frame. I'm sure we'll find out more about this at SHOT Show when we talk to the reps.

Then, after reading through the press release I found out that both guns have a 10 round capacity, which they had this to say about:

We listened to the consumers request for a GLOCK Slimline model with increased round capacity and both of these pistols deliver that flawlessly.  GLOCK‚Äôs continued pursuit of perfection drives innovation while not straying from our promise of reliability and durability and that is demonstrated in the G43X and G48.
