COVID-19 Quarantine Staff Picks

So we've been trying to have as much fun with this quarantine thing as humanly possible, and something we've all done recently is share things that we cannot do without during this “lockdown” of sorts. I thought it might be a good idea to show off some of these can't live without items, and maybe even have some more fun with you, our readers.
Let us know in the comments:
First, what is something you have been thankful to have during this time that you've been stuck in your house?
Second, which one of these staff picks is the best? (of course it's mine, as you'll see)
Third, what is something you miss or took for granted when the world was normal-ish?
Now what I'm going to do is name each person, their role in the company, what they picked, what they said about their pick, and where to buy this pick if you want to try it out.
Let's get started:
Mitch:
Mitch does all the social media stuff on Facebook, Instagram, and the rest — as well as most (if not all) of the graphic design for the company. Mitch recommends a book titled: When Violence is the Answer by Tim Larkin. He had this to say about why he picked it:
In a civilized society, violence is rarely the answer. But when it is, it's the only answer. This book woke me up to understanding the mindset that it takes to be able to defend yourself in a real world violent situation. I would recommend this book to anyone!
Josh:
That's me, by the way. I'm the editor of this website and primary writer-dude. I recommended coffee. I love coffee, but not just any coffee, AK-47 Medium Roast Ground Coffee by Black Rifle Coffee Company. This is what I had to say about my pick:
The thing that's getting me through the apocalypse is coffee … lots and lots of coffee. After all, the best part of waking up is freedom in your cup. Stay woke, my friends.
Of course I jest about the apocalypse part, but you get the idea. Check out the coffee here.
Dillon:
Dillon is our programmer extraordinaire. His primary focus in life is the Concealed Carry App, the Range Tech Shot Timer App, and just making sure we're technologically sound. His pick is the LifeStraw Mission Water Purification System, High-Volume Gravity-Fed Purifier. This is what he had to say about it:
I love LifeStraw especially this larger gravity-fed purifier. It works great for camping and in times like these I don't need to stock up on water.
You can check out this one, here.
Brian:
Brian is our resident medical guru and medical training director. So his pick should come as no surprise and is the Yellowstone Trauma Kit from Mountain Man Medical. This is what he has to say about why he chose this:
Having extra medical gear on hand in case of decreased or absent response times is something I find comforting in the event I have to keep a loved one stable.
Check out this all important medical kit, here.
Jacob:
Jacob is our fearless leader, and company president. He does a little bit of everything. He chose the SimpliSafe 12 piece Wireless Home Security System w/HD camera. This is what he had to say about it:
You and your family should feel safe in your home. Having a quality home security system is an absolute must. This SimpliSafe Security System will give you peace of mind.
Find this security system, here.
Corey:
Corey is our primary videographer, video editor, and daredevil. Don't believe me? Check out his Instagram. Anyway, Corey's pick for getting through quarantine is a dry fire tool known as MantisX Training Rail Attachment. This is what he had to say about it:
I like the fact that it is quick and easy to set up, along with the great visual data that it provides. It makes dry fire a lot more fun and helps point out any flaws in your technique.
Learn more about the MantisX here.
Matthew:
Matthew is our podcast producer, a writer, a firearms instructor, and I know him as brother. Matthew's pick is The Law of Self Defense Book by Andrew Branca. Apparently he's getting caught up on legal stuff. This is what he said about it:
I've read it before but the information in the book is so important that I think a reread is never a bad idea.
Find this great resource, here.
Nacho:
Yes, Nacho is his name, no I didn't name him. And, while I don't think it's his real name, I've got no clue what that might be so everyone on the team calls him Nacho. Nacho is our most recent team member and is on the customer support team. He chose the Monster Rockin' Roller 3 100w Portable Indoor/Outdoor Water Resistant Wireless Speaker.
I have a Monster Rockin' Roller 3 that I absolutely love. It's not only a Bluetooth speaker, but also has charging ports. It also includes the NOAH weather station.
Sam:
Sam is also on the customer care team, but I think he's the manager of that team. He's actually been with the company the longest after Jacob and Riley and chose the LifeStraw Personal Water Filter as his can't do without item.
The LifeStraw personal water filter will provide 792 gallons (3,000 liters) of safe drinking water without using chemicals or iodine. It removes 99.9999% of bacteria and has no shelf life even after use.
You can find the LifeStraw, here.
Riley:
We all know Riley, and he wears a few different hats and goes by a few different names (only a few of which he has actually ever heard). You likely know him as the Concealed Carry Podcast host, but he's also the director of training, and chief user of the word “literally” which drives some people nutty. His pick, is a SIG Sauer P320 Air Pistol which he talks about:
I've actually been practicing with this in the garage this week, so it has literally helped me get through “quarantine.” The P320 is imitated in ASP from full blowback metal slide to rifled steel barrel with a few built-in performance advantages – low audible profile, practice space versatility and radically less expensive ammunition.
You can literally find Riley's pick, here.
Those are our picks, and now it's your turn. What is getting you through quarantine? Remember, here are the questions I want to have you answer if you're wiling:
First, what is something you have been thankful to have during this time that you've been stuck in your house?
Second, which one of these staff picks the the best?
Third, what is something you miss or took for granted?
I'll start, you know I chose coffee, and I obviously think my answer is the best. But, what is something I miss or took for granted? Eating out. There's just something about letting other people cook my food that makes it taste that much better.
Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
Josh, not because you chose it, but as for my family coffee is a must have. The Black Rifle Coffee Company is great but I order ours from a company in GA.
It’s fresh roasted, flavored if desired & shipped the next day. Check out http://www.coffeeam.com
