We are now under one week away from our peaceful rally on the Nation's Capitol. There is a long list of great speakers who will be in attendance, and at least Mitch and I will be there from our team. There have been a couple of updates and small changes that need to be addressed.
Here are some updates: The rally is now starting a full 30 minutes earlier than had been previously stated. The rally now starts at 12:30 PM, but the date is still the same on November 2nd.
Another update is that unless your hotel is within walking distance, they're urging us to park outside DC and take the Metro to the rally. I've been informed that the DC Metro is fairly easy to use, though I have to admit that I'm not exactly thrilled about having to use it.
We also have an updated list of prohibited items that cannot be brought onto Capitol Grounds:
§ 16.16. PROHIBITED ITEMS ON CAPITOL GROUNDS.
- §16.16.10 Pursuant to 40 U.S.C. Section 5104(e)(1), firearms, dangerous weapons, explosives, or incendiary devices are prohibited on Capitol Grounds.
- §16.16.20 At the direction of the Chief of Police, the United States Capitol Police may search packages, backpacks, and other containers in the immediate possession of individuals who enter and are within the United States Capitol Grounds for the purpose of detecting prohibited items.
- § 12.6. SIGNS, BANNERS AND PLACARDS – Signs, banners and placards are permissible on Capitol Grounds provided the supports for these items have dull ends, do not exceed ¾ of an inch at their widest point and cannot in any way be construed as a weapon. No nails, screws or bolt-type fastening devices may be protruding from the supports.
I'd also like to take a moment to remind everyone that this is not a protest, but a rally. This event is meant to show the lawmakers in Washington that we are the gun lobby, and not any one organization. We are American citizens, We Are The People, we mean business, and we aren't going away.
Finally, the organizers are respectfully requesting that we not be armed to comply with DC laws, even if they're unconstitutional.
The list of speakers has grown to include the following:

Craig Deluz (FPC)
