May I please suggest that you stop playing the music in the background for so long. I believe it is acceptable during the intial introduction of the podcast, maybe up to the first minute. After that, the background music is annoying. Thank you.
While I would never use deadly force to defend ONLY property… any action by a rioting mob (or any single member of that mob) that in any way reasonably poses danger to me, my family or nearby innocents – such as shooting at (or throwing firebombs at) homes in my neighborhood as they come down the street approaching my property, for instance – absolutely justifies my use of deadly force BEFORE the rioters reach my real estate (that is, within shooting or throwing distance of my occupied house).
Joe, I’m not sure I fully understand your question but if I follow your scenario wouldn’t you be using force to defend yourself from the firebombs? In the end isn’t your use of force in this theoretic situation still about defending human life? If yes, than it would be legally justified right? If all those homes were empty and you knew of a surety that there was no human life in danger then do you still feel you would be justified in stopping the crime of arson knowing there is no danger to life?
First of all. I love the podcast. Listen on the road for work. However, someone in this episode found it necessary to incessantly click something that sounded like a hand held single hole punch. I pulled my hair out for ten minutes waiting for the “took-ka, took-ka” sound time stop. Then realized I had no idea what they were talking about because the sound was so annoying. Reluctantly, I skipped to the next episode and calmed down.
