The 4ZERO cuff is made from a high-performance polymer, designed to function without breaking in any environmental condition encountered. Most zip-tie restraints are made from general purpose nylon 66 and are subject to brittleness resulting in breakage in extremely dry or cold conditions. 4ZERO cuffs are the fastest and strongest polymer disposable restraint products available. The 4ZERO cuff is designed to be preassembled in the Quad-Loop configuration, for extremely fast deployment in applying the restraint to the subject.
The two smaller loops will accommodate fingers with gloves, and allow fast application of the restraint in many adverse conditions (wet, icy, etc). 4ZERO Cuffs are manufactured in the USA under ISO 9000 certification, confirming the strong commitment to quality and reliability. The polymer that the 4ZERO cuff is manufactured from contains a copper based heat stabilizing additive to help the material perform under long-term heat exposure. Oxidation of the copper additive will occur when the cuffs are exposed to heat and humidity and will change the color of natural or light colored cuffs towards a green or greenish-yellow. This can even occur so that one end or section of the cuff may appear darker than another area. This is the same process that causes a copper penny to tarnish. It is not a defect and is, in fact, an indication that the heat stabilizer is present and performing as intended.
4Zero cuffs are becoming more and more popular as users discover how efficient the quad loop design is. The two large loops are used in securing the prisoner and the smaller loops are used to apply and tighten the restraints. Traditional double loop disposable restraints are harder to apply as the user has to tighten the cuffs one side at a time and there is no grip or tab to grasp while applying the restraints.
