All I wanted was a VP9 with a shorter barrel and a shorter grip length. I bought a CC9 before I knew there was going to be a VP9CC. The pressure required to activate the magazine release on my CC9 is so high that it takes moving your grip to press it. The paddle release system was designed by people that knew what they were doing. Do you really think that they didn’t consider using a button???

The grip texture they used is for a reason.
1st it’s a concealed carry gun and most people don’t want it too aggressive and will not use this as a long session range gun or duty gun.
2nd You can always customize the texture to your liking for cheap. More difficult if they used a rough texture and now you need to smooth it out.
Any recommendations for shops or gunsmiths to customize the grip texture?
Mr. Bowman! Thank you for such a calm, relatively un-biased (I kid! I kid!) and informative comparison between those two pistols. ^L^ You did not shout or give a big “WAAHOO” once, nor did you affect any kind of fake southern accent! Bravo! (I guess I watch too many video reviews on YouTube.)
Besides your presentation style, you also compared many characteristics between the two that I had not considered, nor I had a noticed them in viewing the guns in person or in other reviews. Most noticeably the trigger guard shapes and sizes. Quite different now that you mention it! *L*
I have a couple of questions, I hope you didn’t cover ^L^. 1) What about “length of pull” between the two? Even though you can adjust that somewhat with the grip extensions, do they different in an inherent way, like with the same “medium” grip extension installed on both? One review really made a big deal about how HK designed the pull length of the CC9 to be longer than ‘other’ micro-compacts and I wonder if they did the same for the VP9CC? 2) It looks like the optic on the VP9CC is mounting lower in regards to the iron sights than the optic on the CC9? Yes? That would be better for co-witnessing? 3) I wish you had spent more time on the ‘grip’ comparison? I guess the CC9 doesn’t need an extended beavertail like the VP9CC? ^L^ And it looks like the CCP has a slightly longer ‘grip length’, but it could just be a more undercut trigger-guard? Can you get the same amount of finger-grip on both with the 10 round magazine?
