Taurus TX9 Debuts at SHOT Show 2026 | Modular, Optics Ready & Made in America

At SHOT Show 2026, Caleb Giddings from Taurus USA walks us through the all-new Taurus TX9, a duty-rated, modular striker-fired pistol built for real-world use.

The TX9 launches in three sizes:
- Full Size – 4.5" barrel, 17-round magazine
- Compact – 4" barrel, 15-round magazine
- Subcompact – 3.5" barrel, 13-round magazine

All TX9 models share key features, including:
- TX22-inspired grip ergonomics
- Four interchangeable backstraps, allowing grip angles from Glock-style to 1911-style
- Ambidextrous slide release and reversible magazine catch
- Duty-rated modular chassis system with grip modules, slides, and barrels coming soon
- Optics-ready from the factory, using the proven Taurus G3 optic system
- Industry-standard sights, compatible with Glock aftermarket sights

Most importantly, the TX9 is assembled in the USA, with final quality control and test firing performed at Taurus’ Bainbridge, Georgia facility.

This marks Taurus’ first modern, duty-grade modular handgun, with early adoption already underway in law enforcement markets overseas.
