Should one train using the same weight as you carry. For instance, my defensive carry ammo is 9mm 124 gr. Should I be using 124 gr ammo when I train or is it OK to train using 115 gr. ammo?
Ray, my own opinion is that one should train with the same loads as they carry for defense. The primary reason behind my thinking is that the load does effect the recoil and other aspects that impact accuracy of the shooter. So those would ideally be things you want consistent in training with EDC.
Ray agree with Jacob on the topic and the only thing to add is to try and get as close to the same loads for carry as you do for training. i.e. shooting powder puff 115g loads for training then switching to magnum 115g loads for carry doesn't help. Check out the Sig ammo because they have their ammo in training rounds and carry rounds.
